Get in the know with Get in the Game
The Get in the Game tour offers detailed CV and portfolio advice, workshops with hints and tips to increase employability, and informs graduates what skills they’ll need to land a job in the games or tech industry.
With direct support from the games industry, the tour delivers talks, advice and workshops from specialist games recruiters Aardvark Swift and representatives from UK games studios. This is a unique opportunity for students to learn about the industry and how to make themselves standout straight from games professionals.
Our audience is a strong majority of students from UK Universities, typically studying, or about to graduate from, Computer Science, Games Art or Programming courses. We visited 66 Universities in our 2016 / 2017 tour, which included 48 Computer Science, 15 Games Art, Animation & VFX, and 13 Computing courses.
During last year’s tour we were joined by guest speakers from studios including Boss Alien, Playground Games, Rebellion, AMD, Futurlab, Red Kite Games & more. You can see the full list here!
The talks and workshops are based on feedback from studios who partook in our annual graduate recruitment survey of the UK game industry. They are designed to highlight the benefits and reality of a career in video games development, giving students the guidance they need on how to prepare themselves & improve their employability.
We’re currently planning our 2018 tour, so if you’re a university, potential sponsor, or member of industry who wants to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! Contact Rachel Frost for more information on 01709834777 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
