Getting grads into games
Grads In Games is an award-winning outreach initiative founded by leading games industry recruiters Aardvark Swift in 2014. Grads in Games has one simple aim – to help more graduates make the leap from student to professional developer.
We do this through a comprehensive programme of events, activities and resources – all designed to equip students and graduates with the skills employers need.
Our initiatives
The Grads in Games initiative is built around our showcase events. Search for a Star and Rising Star are our annual industry-backed showcase student and graduate talent challenges. Designed by experienced games industry professionals to represent a typical studio recruitment process, programming, 3D art, animation and VFX students improve their employability by creating the games and polished assets which studios want to see in an exceptional applicant.
Through the Get in the Game careers events we speak directly to thousands of students at all levels of higher and further education to impart our knowledge sourced directly from studio recruiters. We deliver expert CV and portfolio advice, guidance to increase employability, and teach students about the skills they’ll need to get a job in the games industry.

We work closely with hundreds of games companies, from big international publishers to the smallest indie development studios, so we know exactly what they’re looking for when it comes to recruiting graduates.
