Games Programming Projects | SFAS23
Check out our Games Programming student projects for Search For A Star & Rising Star 2023!
This year we decided to focus purely on C++ coding for our programming challenge, as it’s the primary language that most studios are looking for from graduate coders. While the increased challenge caused a significant drop in the number of submissions compared to our previous C# / Unity challenge, the quality level is very high and completing a project is an achievement in itself!
For their Search For A Star projects, our student programmers were given a very basic prototype of a “spot the ball” game and tasked with building on the codebase to add new features and mechanics, developed in C++ and using Unreal Engine 5. Everyone is given creative control of the game design, with the condition that they base their work around the original code.
A huge congratulations to everyone who submitted their projects, and well done to everyone who took part!
The Search For A Star challenges are run by Grads In Games with the support of our headline partner Yahaha, and our studio partners at Cloud Imperium, d3t, 10:10 Games, Red Kite Games, Furious Bee, Escape Technology & our recruitment partners at Aardvark Swift
