Get In The Game Tour Diary: Yorkshire
We’ve reached the last day of our second week of the talks, finishing off at the University of Hull.
After our long trip up to Scotland last week, this week we remain close to home, in our neighboring Yorkshire cities. Like last week, we’ve had an excellent turn-out from students, with some rooms being so packed that someĀ of us had to sit on the floor!
The students have really enjoyed the talks this week from our industry speakers who cover a variety of interesting topics, from breaking into the industry and securing their first industry role to breaking away from AAA and forming their own indie studios, to crucial advice for students to take away.
So we’d like to say a bit thank you to our speakers who joined us this week: Boss Alien’s Will Tarratt & Tom Pickard, Red Kite Games’ Simon Iwaniszak & David Roberts, Cardboard Sword’s Olly Bennett, Inertia Games’ Kieran Newland and BetaJester’s Adam Boyne!
While the talks have gone great, the highlight of the week has to be Game Bridge, which we all attended after the talk at Teesside University on Wednesday.
Game Bridge is a free networking eventĀ for game industry professionals, graduates and game course students to get together.
We’re thrilled to sponsor the event this year, and it was great to enjoy some drinks with some new and familiar faces.
See you all next week, where we’ll be heading to the Midlands!
