You’ve been working in various studios for a few years now. You’ve released some great games. You’ve been part of some fantastic, supportive, and pioneering teams.
You’re grateful for the experiences you’ve had and the sterling work you’ve accomplished, but you can’t help but feel like a change of direction is on the cards. Wouldn’t it be nice to pass on all of your knowledge, gained via countless mistakes and achievements in your current role, to the next generation of developers?
Luckily for you, I’m working with the highly respected University for the Creative Arts on an exciting Games Lecturer role!
UCA have gone from strength-to-strength lately as the UK’s top creative specialist university, and their games course is no exception. You will be helping to produce, deliver, and present course materials across a variety of disciplines, mostly focused on programming and game development.
Due to the pandemic, the role will begin remotely (and this is likely to continue for the rest of the academic year) but when things calm down, the role will be on-site. You will need to relocate to Surrey or live within a commutable distance.
To be considered, you’ll need the following skills and XP:
- Development experience in a games studio
- Strong C++ and UE4 skills, with additional experience in C# and Unity
- Experience of shader workflows and lighting techniques
- Fantastic communication and presentation skills
- A passion for imparting your skills and knowledge to the next generation
- Teaching and lecturing experience is desirable, but not essential
The salary range for this varied and fulfilling role is £35,845 to 49,552 per annum, dependent on experience. As if all this wasn’t enough, when you relocate, you’ll be living in a picturesque, beautiful county with access to the best parks, green spaces, shopping, restaurants, and bars, giving you lots to do on a weekend!
You simply can’t miss this one!
