Skills : 2D & 3D VFX, Unity, Realistic VFX, Particles & Shaders
The Aardvark Swift graduate recruitment team are now working with a new games studio specialising in narrative-led experiences. Comprised from a mix of industry veterans from the likes of giants such as Sony and Microsoft, this studio is looking to stretch the definition of video games and blend it with expectations usually held for flagship and high budget television shows such as Breaking Bad and Fargo. Founded by Ex-Quantic Dream Dev Caroline Marchal, who worked as the Lead Game Designer on both Heavy Rain and Beyond:Two Souls, Interior Night is now working on their first original IP. They’ve gone on to secure support from SEGA who will publish their first game.
Together, we are looking to add a Junior VFX Artist to their ambitious team. As the newest member of this budding studio, your day-to-day will include:
- Creating high-quality VFX for props and environment assets
- Implementing these effects in Unity (shrunken particle systems, offline simulations, shader tricks etc.)
The most important thing you’ll need to possess if you’ve hoping to be successful when applying for this role will be a portfolio or showreel showcasing heavily realistic effects. We are looking for realistic explosions, fire, smoke, water etc. Those with a showreel containing only fantasy-based effects will likely not be the right people for this position, but if you can show us that you can be adaptable to a brief from varied genres, then that’s great!
Other requirements and skills we’d like to see include:
- Strong eye for colour and real-world elements
- Ability to produce compelling, cinematic results in real-time engines
- Understanding of node-based shader editing and particles
This is a huge opportunity to create spectacular and convincing art for ambitious AAA games focused on strong narratives! If you’d like to know more about this role then get in touch!
