As our Operations Manager, you are taking an active role in that positive impact; helping people to get jobs in games, improving skills and employability, and enabling people to learn more about working in game development. 

You will be a recognised authority within games education, working with thousands of students, educators and industry professionals to plan, develop and deliver projects that make a difference.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management & Planning: Lead the planning and management of multiple projects and events throughout the year. This includes assigning appropriate time and resources to tasks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and contribute to us reaching our goals.

Business Development: Manage our commercial partnerships and sponsorships with games studios, as well as sourcing new revenue-generating opportunities.

Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and academic contacts through regular communication.

Team Management: Day-to-day management of the team including their progression and development. You will manage their performance, seek training opportunities where necessary and manage internal hiring.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Funding: You will work with external experts to generate revenue through funding bids. Additionally working with the accounts team you will have oversight and responsibility of the companies P&L.

This is an expansive role that allows you to work with a wide range of people on a variety of projects across business areas. You’ll get to build relationships within the games industry and be an active part of the gamedev ecosystem through attending or arranging games industry events, as well as speaking at conferences. You will be able to deliver valuable advice, guidance and education to people that need and appreciate it, providing active outreach and support for a range of communities.

The Operations Manager is the lead role in Grads In Games, with visibility across multiple areas of the games industry and a high level of autonomy. You will have opportunities to develop and lead new initiatives for Grads In Games, with a flexible and open approach to new project ideas that create positive impact in the sector.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience managing multi-disciplined projects and/or events
  • Proven sales or business development skills
  • Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining long-term relationships

For this role we are also looking for somebody who can show examples of the following personal skills and attributes:

  • Interest in outreach, support and charitable initiatives
  • Tech savvy with an interest in the games/tech sector – able to quickly pick up and understand terminology and concepts.
  • Professional (not corporate) – comfortable interacting with a variety of different stakeholders

This is a customer-facing role, so you will need to be very comfortable meeting and interacting with students and industry professionals, both online and at industry events.
