Partner Spotlight: nDreams
We’re sure you’ve heard us banging the drum about nDreams on plenty of occasions by now. But dya know what? They’re awesome, and we’re going to bang it again.
nDreams is an award-winning virtual reality developer and publisher, with a proven track record in creating successful and memorable experiences for the leading VR platforms: high end, mobile, arcades and location-based entertainment. With their rich heritage in video game development, they lead the way in building world-leading interactive and immersive VR content and boast one of the most experienced studios in the world. nDreams have worked with leading VR and entertainment companies such as Oculus, Microsoft, Sony, Google , HTC and Samsung.
nDreams are refreshingly open to hiring grads looking for their first industry role, seeing graduates as a key part of their hiring strategy. They recruit permanent, fixed term contract and freelance resources at all levels across all skills sets depending on their development needs, and see a pipeline of graduates as complementary to this. Last year they welcomed four grads to their Art team across Environment, Animation and VFX. Two of those graduates were spotted due to their Search for a Star entries, so if you fancy your chances at landing a role with nDreams make sure you register for this year’s challenges!
Those graduates are now growing in skills and experience under the mentoring of the nDreams team.”The Senior team find it really rewarding to see these graduates grow in confidence and deliver more polished results over time,” Tamsin O’Luanaigh, the Co-Sec at nDreams, tells us. “We know that it’s beneficial for the studio to have talented entry-level resources maturing from within.”
You’d struggle to find a more supportive environment to begin your career anywhere in the industry. The team at nDreams are crucial to delivering the Search for a Star & Rising Star challenges and the Get in the Game Tour, offering support with writing briefs, delivering talks, assessing portfolios and giving feedback on submissions. They’re serious about helping people make the transition from student to professional developer, which is mirrored in their efforts to support the initiative.
“nDreams are involved in the programme with the ultimate aim of finding talented graduates to join our team, but have found that by being in the process from the start and presenting at the Universities, all the way to the end at the finals, means the team have more investment in the initiative, enjoy the process, and see the positive impact grads can have on our studio. We were also delighted to win the Graduate Employer Award 2018 as a result of all of our hard work.” Says Tamsin.
Well, we are delighted to have you nDreams. You’ll be able to meet the nDreams team at our Search for a Star finals day this year, or out with us as part of our Get in the Game Tour at Solent University, the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Derby.
