VFX Festival 2016
The Brits wasn’t the only event taking place at London’s O2 Arena this week. Instead we found ourselves wandering down the red carpet to the 2016 VFX Festival!
Developed in 2013 by Escape Studios and Pearson College London, The VFX Festival brings together students and industry experts who all share a love of VFX, Games and Animation. Taking place from the 23rd-25th February, the festival featured speakers from all areas of the VFX, Games and Animation industries, covering topics like careers and recruitment to the creation behind big titles like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Martian and Assassin’s Creed.
Outside of these talks was the opportunity to immerse yourself in the industry, from trying out VR headsets to getting the chance to network with industry professionals at their stands.
We attended on day two of the festival, which was targeted at VFX, Games and Animation enthusiasts. Our Art Recruitment Consultant Sharan Bassi passed along her wisdom during a careers talk in the afternoon, where she told students how they can improve their chances of getting into the games industry.
It’s safe to say that our first trip to VFX Festival was a success, and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing from so many industry professionals who share our passion for VFX, Games and Animation!
