3D Environment Projects | SFAS 2023
Lets take a look at our 3D environment student projects for Search For A Star & Rising Star 2023!
Environment art is one of the most popular categories in SFAS and is a huge part of the games industry, incorporating aspects of prop and scene art, level art, textures and materials, lighting and more. Developing a full scene will use a broad range of skills using several of these aspects, and is no simple task!
Students this year were asked to create a game-ready environment scene based on one of the following six themes:
Don’t Look Down
The Depth of Winter
Aquatic Fanatic
Microcosmic
The Interchange
A Shift in the Wind
Alternatively, students could also work from a dedicated Vehicle Art project brief, designed by our studio partners at Cloud Imperium Games. Students using this brief were tasked with designing and modelling a new spacecraft based on the universe of Star Citizen.
The Search For A Star challenges are run by Grads In Games with the support of our headline partner Yahaha, and our studio partners at Cloud Imperium, d3t, 10:10 Games, Red Kite Games, Furious Bee, Escape Technology & our recruitment partners at Aardvark Swift
