Get In The Game 2020: Week One
We launched our free Get In The Game careers events this week, looking a little different from our usual university visits! Now as a series of online webinars, we’re still bringing our award-winning careers advice to students across the UK and Europe, complete with guest speakers from the games industry.
This week was our first webinar, focussed on Games Animation & VFX, joined by Talib Khadim, Animator at our partner studio, d3t. Speaking mainly to students from South Wales, Portsmouth, Glyndwr Wrexham, UCA, Falmouth, Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire about just what it takes to prepare for a job working as a games industry animator or VFX artist.
From the technical skills you need to get noticed by hiring managers, to just what to have on your CV and portfolio, the talks cover a range of things that will really help you to improve your employability and career prospects in such a competitive field. Talib was also able to share his own experiential advice and insight into working as an animator in games, and how he transitioned his skills after working in the TV & film industry.
