Student Conference 2021 speaker: Zoë Sams

25 February 202110 March 2021 Dan Dudley 0

We’re very pleased to welcome Zoë Sams, Tools Programmer at Rockstar North, to this year’s Grads In Games Student Conference!

Zoë is the latest confirmed speaker for the Grads in Games Student Conference on March 29th, and will be sharing experiences of combating impostor syndrome, and from her career in the video games industry at one of the biggest games studios in the world!

Zoë is a Tools Programmer at Rockstar North. Her passion lies in combining art and code, with some of her favourite projects being real-time simulations, animation tools, character rigs, and interactive installations.

She’s a Women in Games ambassador and a SpecialEffect ambassador, and she is a strong believer that diversity can only strengthen our industry and push us to continue creating fresh, innovative content.

Your first day at work can be a daunting experience. An estimated 70% of us will experience Impostor Syndrome at some point during our professional lives, but very few of us talk about it. Zoë Sams goes over her path into the games industry, her first day in the office, and combating impostor syndrome in the workplace.

After the talk, there will be a 15 minute Q&A for you to ask Zoë about dealing with impostor syndrome, her journey, work as a programmer, and whatever you like about working in the video games industry.

This free student conference will be taking place on Monday March 29th, and if you’re looking to start a career in games is an opportunity you do not want to miss out on. Click the banner below for full info on the conference, our other speakers, plus sign up and keep up-to date with all the updates for the Grads in Games Student Conference 2021.
