Games Animation Projects | Search For A Star 2024
Check out our Games Animation student projects for Search For A Star & Rising Star 2024!
For their Search For A Star projects, our student animators were asked to create a character movement sequence to an industry brief, based around key actions typical of games animation. Everyone is given creative control of the model, rig and narrative, allowing full freedom of expression. The only conditions were that the sequence should follow 4 games-typical steps (idle, charge, release, recover), and fit one of this year’s four themes :
Crowd Pleaser
Does Whatever a Hero Can
Get To Cover
Disciplined Fighter
A huge congratulations to everyone who submitted their projects, and well done to everyone who took part!
Our assessment team of games animators from across the industry are currently hard at work reviewing all of the project submissions and providing feedback, and the highest achieving students will be chosen to move forward to our finals day event in April.
The Search For A Star challenges are run by Grads In Games with the support of our our studio partners at d3t, 10:10 Games, Red Kite Games, Furious Bee, Steel City Interactive, PlusMusic, our supporting partners at XR Games, The National Videogame Museum and Sheffield Hallam University, our prize providers Adobe, and our recruitment partners at Aardvark Swift
