Search For A Star 2011 Winner – Stuart Brown

30 September 201122 June 2023 Dan Dudley 0

Stuart Brown, winner of Search For A Star 2011We would like to congratulate Stuart Brown, the winner of Search for a Star 2011.

Stuart has successfully completed his BSc in Computer Games Development at the University of Central Lancashire, Due to the recognition and obvious talents Stuart has, he’s found permanent employment with Codemasters.

In a highly competitive field Stuart managed to pip George Smith of Manchester Met University and Adam Kelly from Northumbria University. The two runners up have both already been snapped up by Playground Games.

Lizi Attwood, Search for a Star judge and lead programmer at Relentless Software had this to say about our winner,

“Stuart showed that he was an excellent all-rounder. Technically very good, he’s already picked up a lot of knowledge about good practices and the second test showed he can be creative when faced with a blank canvas. On top of all that, he is an excellent communicator and would be able to slot easily into an existing team.”

Stuart’s comments on Search for a Star:

“The competition was not only a good test of ability, but also fun to take part in. Each round was also useful preparation for actual interviews, covering both technical questions as well as a face-to-face interview with industry professionals.”

George Smith also went on to say:

“Breaking into the games industry can be difficult, but competitions like this one give a real advantage when it comes to finding a job.”
