For their Search For A Star projects, our student artists were asked to create a small environment scene to an industry brief, spending around 60-70 hours spread over several weeks. Everyone is given creative control of the scene’s narrative and style, with the only conditions being that the scene should contain 4 key props (a centrepiece, a decorative piece, a supporting prop, and an architectural or structural piece), and fit one of this year’s theme options :

A huge congratulations to everyone who submitted their projects, and well done to everyone who took part!

Our assessment team of games artists from across the industry have been hard at work reviewing all of the project submissions and providing feedback, with the highest achieving students now moving forward to our finals day event in April.

The Search For A Star challenges are run by Grads In Games with the support of our our studio partners at d3t and Coconut Lizard, 10:10 Games, Red Kite Games, Furious Bee, Steel City Interactive, PlusMusic, our supporting partners at XR Games, The National Videogame Museum and Sheffield Hallam University, our prize providers Adobe, and our recruitment partners at Aardvark Swift
