Check out our Games VFX student projects for Search For A Star & Rising Star 2023!

Realtime VFX for games is an area that’s in huge demand across the industry, though it’s still an area that most universities don’t provide any specialisation in. As a result, we rarely see more than a few entries in this category each year, though it’s always a treat to see the excellent sequences that have been created.

Students were asked to create a game-ready VFX sequence containing four states:
1. A passive or idle state
2. A transitional or change state
3. A ‘release’ or final state
4. An impact or recovery state

A huge congratulations to those who submitted their projects, and well done!

The Search For A Star challenges are run by Grads In Games with the support of our headline partner Yahaha, and our studio partners at Cloud Imperium, d3t, 10:10 Games, Red Kite Games, Furious Bee, Escape Technology & our recruitment partners at Aardvark Swift
