September 17, 2020September 17, 2020 Andy Driver 0

The Graduate Employer Award highlights studios & companies that have demonstrated a positive and pro-active approach in hiring and supporting graduates & interns over the past 12 months. Showcasing the studios that are doing the most to help the next generation of games developers and doing their bit to work towards a more sustainable future for the games industry.

This year we had some incredible nominations which really shows just how important graduate recruitment has become for the games industry. These were eventually reduced to a shortlist of 8 finalists who were then judged by our fantastic panel. This years finalists:

  • Auroch Digital
  • Bulkhead Interactive
  • d3t Ltd.
  • Intouch Games
  • nDreams
  • Playground Games
  • Sumo Digital
  • TT Games
nDreams

Following deliberation by our judging panel, we can now reveal that in their expert decision the winner of this years award is nDreams

In the past 12 months nDreams have doubled their staff numbers with graduates accounting for around 8% of this. They are always providing assistance to new graduates joining their team, ensuring al graduates have a fantastic onboarding experience. This year they have implemented Level Up days where once a month staff have the opportunity to work on their own projects and/or learn/improve skills related to their job or the industry in general.

“The importance of educating the younger generation remains very high on our agenda and in 2019 we launched our ‘Community Education Programme’ where we made a commitment to talk about the career opportunities within the industry to schools, universities and at careers days. We are pleased that we not only met this commitment by last year speaking at four schools, Farnborough College of Tech and two universities (in addition to the Grads in Games talks) we also introduced work experience days and became involved with new organisation IntoGames.org to help increase accessibility and awareness of career paths in the games industry.”

“All nDreams staff have personal development plans linked to job requirements, with formal 1-1 review process with objectives set and assessed on a regular basis to ensure that staff are developing and moving forward in their roles continuously.”

“Our annual Employee Engagement survey (taken each Autumn) saw favourable results with 92% of employees agreeing that their Manager cares about them as a person, 82% feel there is someone who encourages their development and 97% of the team stated they were proud to work for the company!”

nDreams are a fantastic graduate employer and this award is fully deserved.
