Can you help us assess student submissions for Search for a Star 2018?
We’re putting a call out for all experienced game developers to help us assess Search for a Star submissions for our 9th annual challenge. If you’re a games industry animator, a wiz with visual effects, or a stellar character or environment artist wanting to build the next generation of our industry, then we want to hear from you!
Last year over 800 students registered for the challenge series and we’re aiming for even bigger and better this time around. That’s why we need your support marking round one entries. With your assistance we can help even more graduates make the leap from student to professional developer!
Search for a Star is one of Europe’s biggest student game development challenges. Designed by game development professionals to mimic a standard industry recruitment process, the challenge series highlights and rewards student developers and helps them break into the industry with a bang. The highest achieving students are rewarded with interviews with leading studios.
From September 15th 2017 until the end of January 2018, we need the help of great developers to assess portfolio pieces submitted by students at all levels of university. You’ll receive a small batch of no more than 10 pieces of portfolio work each fortnight as required.
The portfolio pieces will require a basic level of assessment and some industry feedback to help students improve their work. Overall it should take no more than two hours per batch. Assessment criteria and an online feedback form will be provided to make the process as quick and easy as possible!
You can check out last year’s character & environment submissions here, and the VFX & animation submissions here.
