Record-breaking university signups for Search For A Star 2018!
With Search for a Star now firmly in motion we thought that this would be an excellent moment to look back on what has been an amazing couple of months.
After our Get In The Game careers talks last year we saw a sudden surge in applications and entries. In a short time we saw a jump to over 500 registrations from 83 universities across the UK, Europe & worldwide. What we were completely unprepared for was that surge to continue from November last year to finish with nearly 1000 entries from over 100 institutions!
The level of interest in the game dev challenges is genuinely awe inspiring. We want to take a moment to say thank you to all the lecturers, tutors and universities for their support and encouraging students to get involved. It is no coincidence that almost all of the top 10 universities below can boast multiple Search for a Star winners, finalists and high achievers!
We’d also like to give special mention to Sheffield Hallam University, who have smashed all previous records for student signups for the challenges with a very impressive 73 students getting involved this year.
So how do the university signups stack up against each other? Let’s have a look at Search For A Star 2018’s stats…
