Games Animation Projects | SFASX
Games animation can be a tough career to get started in and unlike film animation, it’s not an area that most universities cover in any detail. Being able to create great animation is a huge mix of technical and creative skills, but developing them for use in games is another skillset on top of that!
For SFASX, our student animators were asked to create a movement sequence to an industry brief, based around key actions typical of games animation. Everyone is given creative control of the theme, model, rig and narrative, allowing full freedom of expression.
Unsurprisingly, we’ve ended up with another amazing range of animation project submissions. Whether it’s a dizzying spin sequence by Chris Tuck, helpful bot friends by Emily Bisset, or the dynamic raptor attack by Kirstie Scarlett-Bruff, this year has some of the strongest entries that we’ve ever seen across Search For A Star & Sumo Digital Rising Star.
A huge congratulations to everyone who submitted their projects, and well done to everyone who took part! It’s going to be tough to create a shortlist for the finals, so good luck & a massive thanks to our assessment team!
