SFASX Games VFX Winner 2020 : Reece Kuby
Congratulations to Reece Kuby from the University of Huddersfield, our Games VFX winner of Search For A Star 2020!
After scoring highly across all criteria in the project stage with his VFX energy projectile project, Lilith’s Ion, Reece made his way to the final stage interview. It’s not even the first time he’s made it there, as Reece also reached the finals in 2018 as a Sumo Digital Rising Star entrant!
Reece discussed his skills, knowledge and ambitions for his future games VFX career, in interview with Conrad Hughes, Senior VFX Artist at nDreams; Luis Barros, Lead Lighting/VFX Artist at Ubisoft Reflections; and Jeff Johnson, Lead VFX Artist at Splash Damage.
Our team of expert Games VFX judges said that Reece interviewed really well, showing the most comfortable and complete approach with excellent knowledge and technical ability throughout.
Our judges also said that Reece has lots of potential, and is very aware of what the games industry needs and how his VFX work fits into it, adding that they’re confident he’ll do well in a studio role and will be a great person to work with!
